Juror duty problems...............?

Ok, here's the history. Last summer I got a juror questionaire and filled it out and got selected for jury duty but I got it post-poned to this summer. Then in June I got another questionaire form to fill out and I forgot about it because some family was staying over for a while. Then today at 9:30 a cop came and asked my dad if he could speak with me. All the cop did was basically give me some papers that said I had a court date and that I could get out of court if I filled out the questionaire and if I did neither I would have a warrent put out for my arrest. But stapled behind that paper was a stip of paper that said I have been selected. So, if I still filled out the questionaire form I would still be able to avoid court....I mean the court date I had where I would have to state my reasons for not filling out the questionaire? Also, why do they send a cop to give you the papers- to scare you into complying?
