Whats the best allegy pill for dogs?

my husky has allergies to wet gr and weeds and even air borne pollens that he breathes in can cause his eyes to water and itch.when he gets red itchy welts or hot spots i give him benadryal in the morning and at night for a few days then cut the dose in half. i also wash his skin with warm water and epsom salts then dry and rub on anti itch creams and it soothes the skin along with the benadryal and he is a lot better.he is fine in the winter and fall but when the warm air comes it starts again and i have been doing this for 10 yrs.steroids have also been prescribed but he is so thirsty and can't contol his bladder so i stick with the over the counter drugs until he is better then cut him off. try to keep ur pooch out of wet gr and weeds and dry him down after he comes in on wet days.adult benadryal is ok and it is 3mills per pound of ur dog and with my 110lb husky 1 in the am and 1 at night when he is really itchy and miserable works well then i wean him down after 2 or 3 days until he is itch and welt free. good luck
