Are there cameras that run on AA and battery packs?

I'm looking to replace my current digital camera. I specifically chose a camera that takes AA batteries so that if I ran out of power on a trip, I could stop and buy new batteries, no worries, but I can't stand always needing to have batteries stocked up. It ran through them like mad. Is there a camera that runs on a rechargable battery pack but can still use AAs in emergencies?
