Why am i now receiveing my offline im's.?

when i sign out for the night and when i sign back on the next day im not receiveing my ims cause my friend are telling me they are leaving me messages and im not getting them can you please help me with this i have asked so many people on yahoo to help and noone has they seem to be ignoring me im thinking of deleteing yahoo and i even paid to upgrade.
